Defensive Positions / Ballistic Barriers

Defensive Positions / Ballistic Barriers

Protective Door Industries (PDI’s) defensive ballistic positions add an extra layer of physical security to:

   ▪ Nuclear power stations

   ▪ DOD and military bases

   ▪ DOE Department of Energy facilities

   ▪ Prisons and correctional institutions

   ▪ Government buildings

   ▪ Industrial complexes

And all areas requiring hardline security.

These defensive fighting positions provide a ballistic base where security officers can be deployed to return fire against a physical attack. The barriers are formed from armor steel plate independently tested to meet commercial ballistic standards.

Types of Defensive Positions:

   ▪ Hinged barrier mounted to an interior wall with roller for quick swing-out

   ▪ 2-sided hinged rolling defensive position that easily folds for storage

   ▪ Mobile 3-sided defensive position with retractable casters and roof

   ▪ Stationary one, two and 3-sided defensive fighting position with mounting base

   ▪ Armor shelters / booths

   ▪ Blast and bullet resistant doors

   ▪ Ballistic louvers

   ▪ Vestibule with blast and/or bullet resistant personnel door

Optional Features:

   ▪ Gunport (GP) with armored sliding cover plate or t-slot style opening

   ▪ Stationary unit factory prepared for anchorage to floor, wall, handrails, parapet or rooftop.

   ▪ Pull handles, lifting lugs

   ▪ Bullet resistant vision panels and view ports

   ▪ Roof or floor/base

   ▪ And other elements suitable to site requirements.

Certification:

Barriers contain armor steel plate tested in accordance with either:

   ▪ U.L. Laboratories Standard for Safety U.L. 752 Bullet Resistant Equipment

   ▪ NIJ-STD-0108.01 Levels I thru IV Ballistic Resistant Materials and higher

   ▪ Materials identified by HP White Laboratory, Intertek, NTS Wichita (formerly USTL) and other certified testing facilities.

The steel assembly will conform to the standards of the American Institute of Steel Construction using welded construction per AWS D1.1 where welding is required

Quality:

Independently audited and certified with ISO 9001:2015 quality management program.

Consult with PDI for adherence to other quality control measures.
